cats and inspiration

I found the cutest little mug with Carl from Up at Home Goods last Friday. (I’m not a shopper but I should not be allowed in that store.) He was my first art project idea for this week.

This was the one that convinced me to not to do the big sketch but really I just shouldn’t have started with pencil. I need to sketch with the colors as well.

Instead, I scrolled back through my phone and settled on a picture from my phone. My sizing was off so I “shrunk” the amount of paper that I was using. This project as much more fun than I expected.

There’s a lot of corrections I could make but I like the top of the coffee and the shadow of the cat!
