Delights 4: true or false

I always warn people that work with Micah that he tells totally believable but completely false stories sometimes. Once, in middle school, a teacher walked him out after school and remarked to me, “I had no idea you were Jewish!” I, startled, said that we were not actually Jewish and she looked shocked. “Micah told me all about how you celebrate Hanukkah and about the menorah at your house.” I laughed but had no idea where he could have possible learned about any of that. When I told Justin later, he started laughing and said, “oh, there’s an Arthur episode about Hanukkah.”

On the other hand, he told someone about the time he rode in a helicopter at night and used night vision goggles to look at the landscape below and they laughed and looked at me while saying, “yeah, right, Micah.” It was my turn to laugh again but this time to verify the story. He did, in fact, get transported via helicopter to a different hospital because our local hospital would not admit him. He wasn’t in critical condition, like he was for most transports; he just needed fluids overnight, so he was quite well enough to enjoy both the trip and the night vision googles.
