Internet complaints
I’ve been deeply annoyed at the amount of complaining on the internet.
No one is reading anymore.
No one is talking about this in a reasonable way.
No one is paying attention to this.
No, you shouldn’t have asked for reading recommendations in that way.
All the children’s books are stupid now.
Everyone is stupid now.
It’s been rustling me the wrong way for some time. Of course, some people aren’t reading but I am surrounded by readers, our house is inhabited by readers, and I follow so many people online who are reading.
Yes, in fact, some people are talking about insert whatever the topic is here in a nuanced, thoughtful way. Everyone is not, of course. That would be a ridiculous expectation. But you aren’t the only one doing the work.
All children’s books aren’t stupid. Just don’t read the ones that are.
Stop policing everyone on the internet. Block people. Unfollow them.
And then, after all of these mental instructions to these people complaining on the internet, I realize I’m really close to complaining on the internet about all the complaints and I should just shut it down and go check on my garden.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of negativity in social media. That is why I post devotionals and Scriptures that are uplifting. Have a blessed ‘complaint-free” day.
